Attend a Meeting
The “Maximum Service“ holds hybrid meetings — members attend both in-person and virtually.
Attend virtually
To attend a meeting virtually, please email us at EAMaximumService@gmail.com for the meeting link. To make sure you receive the login information, please contact us at least one hour before the meeting starts (by 9:00 am Central).
If you’re joining us for the first time, please log in to the Zoom meeting at least 15 minutes before the meeting starts (by 9:45 am Central). Because Emotions Anonymous is a program about sharing our experience of recovery, newcomers generally don’t share at their first meeting. You will have a chance to talk to an experienced member of EA after the meeting.
You will need to install the Zoom app on your device in order to attend. Headphones are recommended. Because of the sound delays with internet video conferencing, we ask that you stay muted unless it's your turn to share.

Meeting Format
- Meetings are usually less than an hour. The space will be open by 9:30 am, and some arrive early to help set up the meeting. If attending virtually, please log in to the Zoom meeting by 9:45 am Central. The meeting starts promptly at 10:00am.
- You will be welcomed by a group member who's been there before, and given a copy of our newcomer welcome pamphlet.
- At the start of the meeting, a member will read our twelve steps and twelve traditions. We read the step of the week, and then individuals will have a chance to share on that step.
- We open and close by saying the Serenity Prayer (see below).
- We will not ask questions that are too personal. No one is forced to share who doesn't want to.
Alternate Meeting:
- The "Take or Leave It" EA group meets Tuesdays at 7pm at Faith United Methodist Church in Champaign.
